003 "Fat Tire-style" ale

Brewed: 26 April 2009

Grain Bill:


25 lbs Pilsner
2 lbs Special Breiss
1 lb Crystal 120L
1 lb Munich 10L
2 lbs 40 Crystal

Hops:


9.8 AAU Willamette 30min
7.8 AUU Saaz 15min


Yeast:  


Wyeast 1214
The yeast apparently had not fully activated by the time the wort was cooled and ready to be transferred to the fermenter.  We added it to a small amount of wort to aid in activation.

Mash:


120 min at 158 deg
Ramp up to 168 deg

Boil:


Had a boil-over (out first) at the beginning of the boil.  I think in the future it could be avoided simply by turning the fan on.
